Sulphur Blue BRN is Blue-purple powder. Sulphur Blue BRN does not soluble in water. Sulphur Blue BRN is dark gray when dissolved in sodium sulfide solution.

Sulphur Blue BRN is blue-violet in concentrated sulfuric acid, which produces a dark blue precipitate after dilution. O-Toluidine is condensed with p-nitrosophenol in sulfuric acid, separated with ammonia water, and then vulcanized with sodium polysulfide.

Sulphur Blue BRN is mainly used for dyeing and direct printing of cotton, hemp, viscose and Victoria/cotton blended fabrics. It is also used for coloring leather and paper.

Sulphur Blue BRN is prepared by condensation of p-nitrosophenol with o-toluidine, vulcanization with sodium polysulfide and air oxidation. Due to different production processes, products can have different colors
