What is the Process Fow of Electrostatic Powder Spraying

2021-07-06

The working principle of electrostatic powder spraying method is almost the same as that of ordinary liquid coatings, but the difference is that powder spraying is dispersive, not atomizing. It is a kind of coating sprayed by electrostatic powder spray gun, which disperses the powder particles with negative charge at the same time. The charged powder particles are applied to the grounded coating under the action of airflow (or centrifugal force and other forces) and electrostatic attraction, and then heated, melted and solidified to form a film.

The Process Flow of Electrostatic Powder Spraying is As Follows:

1) The purpose of pretreatment is to remove the oil, dust and rust on the surface of the workpiece, and form a "phosphating layer" or "Chromizing Layer" on the surface of the workpiece, which is corrosion-resistant and can increase the adhesion of the spraying coating. Main process steps: degreasing, derusting, phosphating (chromizing) and passivation.
2) Electrostatic spraying, purpose: powder coating evenly sprayed on the surface of the workpiece, special workpiece (including easy to produce electrostatic shielding position) should use high-performance electrostatic spraying machine to complete spraying. Process steps: using the principle of electrostatic adsorption, spray a layer of powder coating evenly on the surface of the workpiece; The fallen powder is recovered by the recovery system.
3) Purpose: to solidify the sprayed powder onto the surface of the workpiece. Process steps: the sprayed workpiece is put into a high temperature furnace at about 200℃ for 20 minutes (the curing temperature and time are determined according to the quality of the selected powder, and the curing temperature of special low temperature powder is about 160℃, which can save more energy), so that the powder can be concentrated, leveled and solidified.

The above is the process of electrostatic powder spraying, electrostatic powder spraying can reduce the degree of environmental pollution, and significant economic benefits.
