Properties of High Temperature Resistant Powder Coatings

2021-08-08

High temperature resistant powder coating generally refers to the coating that does not change color, does not fall and can still maintain appropriate physical function when the coating film is above 200 ℃. Generally, high temperature resistant powder coatings are mainly composed of high temperature resistant resin, high temperature resistant pigment, high temperature resistant filler and special additives; Because of its excellent high temperature resistance function, it is widely used in chemical industry, petroleum, metallurgy, aviation and other occupations. At present, silicone powder coating is still the main heat-resistant powder coating.

1) Silicone resin takes silicone oxygen bond as the main chain, which gives silicone resin high oxidation stability due to its high bond energy, and can form a stable protective layer on the surface of the film. When silicone resin is used alone, the intermolecular force is small, the adhesion is poor and the price is high; On the premise of meeting relevant functions, appropriate silicone resin is generally added to the resin to deal with the problem of temperature resistance.

2) High temperature resistant powder coating in a certain range, the greater the amount of silicone resin, the longer the service life and heat-resistant time of the film. It is said in the literature that when the dosage of a silicone resin is added from 0.1 to 0.3, the heat resistance time of the film increases from about 50h to 100h.
