Working Principle of Electrostatic Spraying of Powder Coatings

For the coating industry, it is the demand of fire, powder coatings and pollution-free coating process, "oil to water" and "oil to powder" market share is expanding. In addition, the electrostatic spraying effect of powder coating is superior to that of spray painting process in mechanical strength, adhesion, corrosion resistance and aging resistance. The principle of electrostatic spraying of powder coatings is as follows:

1. High efficiency and energy saving. Compared with the traditional coating process, the production power can be improved by 30% ~ 40%, the energy consumption can be reduced by about 30%, the coating times can be reduced, and the place for workpiece stacking and waiting can be saved.
2. Activating collaterals and improving adaptability. Most powder coatings can be sprayed by electrostatic spraying, which is not bound by the shape and size of the workpiece; it can also be mixed with solvent based coatings or electrophoretic deposition coatings.

3. The advantages of coating film. The relative molecular weight of powder coating resin is larger than that of solvent coating resin, which makes the physical and mechanical properties and chemical medium resistance of the coating film better than that of solvent coating, which is manifested in good acid, alkali, salt corrosion resistance and high adhesion.
4. High yield. Before final curing, if the workpiece needs to be improved or partially missed, it can be re sprayed until it reaches the processing requirements. The yield is much higher than that of traditional painting process.
5. The utilization rate is high. The over sprayed powder can be collected by the powder recovery system in the equipment, and then mixed with the new powder. The recovery rate can reach more than 98%.

6. The operation is simplified. The process of powder spraying is simple, which only needs pretreatment, powder spraying, curing and other processes, simplifying the traditional multi process spraying method, and the operation is simple and convenient.

7. Convenience of use. The powder coating can be stored safely at room temperature, without adjusting the viscosity with the season, and without placing for a period of time after spraying, so that the solvent evaporates and then dried.
