The physical properties of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC)

Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) is produced from high-purity cotton cellulose through special etherification under alkaline conditions without any active ingredients, such as animal organs and oils.

Physical properties: 1) Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) is a non-ionic cellulose ether with a white powder appearance, odorless and tasteless, soluble in water and most polar organic solvents and a proper ratio of ethanol/water. C alcohol/water, dichloroethane, etc. are insoluble in ether, acetone, absolute ethanol, and swell into a clear or slightly turbid colloidal solution in cold water. The aqueous solution has surface activity, high transparency and stable performance. 2) Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) has thermal gel properties. After the product aqueous solution was heated, a gel formed and precipitated. After cooling, dissolve again. Different specifications of the product have different gel temperatures. The solubility varies with viscosity. The lower the viscosity, the greater the solubility. Different specifications of HPMC have certain differences in performance, and hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) is not affected by the pH of the water. 3) Granularity: The pass rate of 100 mesh is greater than 100%. Bulk density: 0.25-0.70g / (usually 0.4g / s), specific gravity 1.26-1.31. Discoloration temperature: 180-200℃, carbonization temperature: 280-300℃. 4) Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) has thickening ability, salt release, pH stability, water retention, dimensional stability, extensive enzyme resistance and excellent dispersibility.
