Features of Hypromellose:
1) The gel temperature of Hypromellose is related to its methoxy content. The lower the methoxy content, the higher the gel temperature.
2) The relationship between putty powder and Hypromellose: Hypromellose in putty powder is constructed by three functions: thickening, water retention and three functions. Thickening: Cellulose can be thickened and suspended to make the solution uniform and prevent sagging. Water retention: Putty powder dries slowly, assisting calcium and calcium to react under the action of water. Structure: Cellulose has a lubricating effect and can build putty powder very well. Hypromellose does not participate in any chemical reaction, only plays a supporting role. If Hypromellose has poor water retention, it will also cause powder loss.
3) The difference between cold water soluble type and hot melt type in the production process of Hypromellose: The cold water instant type of Hypromellose is a glyoxal surface treatment, which is quickly dispersed in cold water, but it is not a real solution, and the viscosity rises and dissolves. The hot-melt type does not use glyoxal for surface treatment.
4) Hypromellose produced by the solvent method uses toluene and isopropanol as solvents. If the washing is not good, there will be some residual smell.
5) Hypromellose has different viscosities and different uses: the application of putty powder: the requirement is lower, the viscosity is 100,000, and the important thing is to keep the water quality better. Mortar application: high requirements, high viscosity, more than 150,000. Application glue: Need instant product, high viscosity.
