Such a zinc oxide film can be used as a high-quality transparent electrode for solar cells. However, it has an ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) spectrum. The transmittance in the range is relatively low, and this property is used as a barrier layer in the corresponding spectral region.
The figure below is a comparison of the transmittance of a sample of ZnO film deposited with high purity zinc oxide electronic grade zinc and its substrate quartz glass plate. The inset is the result comparison of the visible light range from 400 to 750 nm. It can be seen that in the range of 410 to 750 nm, the transmittance of the ZnO film deposited with high purity zinc oxide electronic grade zinc is higher than that of quartz, and the maximum increase is 2.3%. It can be seen that the prepared ZnO thin film has played an anti-reflection film effect to a certain extent, and this result is expected to be applied in solar cells.
