Zinc oxide reacts with stearic acid to form Zn2++ salt, which chelates with the pendant group of the sulfur-containing rubber accelerator to stabilize the weak bond and change the cleavage position of the sulfur bond. Vulcanize rubber to generate shorter cross-links, increase new cross-links, and increase cross-link density.
6. ZnO rubber grade can improve the aging resistance of the vulcanized rubber. During vulcanization and use, the polysulfide bond breaks, and the generated H2S will accelerate the cracking of the rubber.
